Holiday Fashion Inspiration

Part I:  Christmas Eve Glam.

Just popping in to show off my latest...ahem, "artistic"?...creation from Polyvore.  Cooking, home decorating, and crafts are a few of my obsessions, but I must confess: allow me to go free in a retail atmosphere of almost any kind, and you are facing a whole new ball game.  Clothes, shoes, accessories, makeup, I will shop them all without mercy.  What can I say?  I enjoy fashion, both trendy and classic.  Fortunately, the art of window-shopping is one that I have learnt over the years...otherwise, you can imagine where I would be.

Anyway.  Polyvore is a neat and yet occasionally reeeeeeeally frustrating website that allows you to put together all kinds of different objects to make your own online collages.  This is the one that I've put together tonight, showing the outfit that I'm hoping to wear for Christmas this year.  Details follow the photo!

And there it is!  Kate Winslet's makeup is the reason for her being in this collage...I do not look anything like her, except that I also have blue eyes and rather pale skin.  Some of these items are from high-end labels such as Kate Spade and Michael Kors, I should note.  I don't own a single object from either brand, unless you count the Twirl by Kate Spade fragrance that I bought for my and Mr. Darcy's wedding day.

That being said, however, I do own a pair of glittery champagne-gold high heels, a beige-gold cowl-neck dress, a cream-hued cardigan, a nice red lipstick, and bright orange-red nail varnish.  The heels were my Christmas present last year from Mr. Darcy--picked out by me and bought from Rack Room Shoes--, the dress is from J Crew, the cardigan is from Forever 21, and the lipstick and nail varnish are from Arbonne and Target, respectively.  Not high-end, I'll admit...but they make an outfit that I'm looking forward to wearing this Christmas!

Now, be warned: you'll most likely see more fashion-oriented posts from me in the future, now that I'm working on deciphering the wonderful world of Polyvore.  It's a great time of the year to think up new styles and outfits!  Until my next post...g'night, y'all.

À bientôt!

Cait
